JAMA NetworkAssociation of Long-term Outcomes with Stereotactic Radiosurgery vs. Whole-Brain Radiotherapy for Resected Brain Metastasis

A Secondary Analysis of The N107C/CEC.3 (Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology/Canadian Cancer Trials Group) Randomized Clinical Trial

When compared to WBRT, SRS alone resulted in less cognitive deterioration among long-term survivors. The link between late cognitive deterioration and WBRT was clinically significant. A significant decrease in cognition (2 SD) was linked to a decrease in overall QOL. WBRT, on the other hand, improved intracranial tumor control. This study provides detailed information about cognitive function in this patient population over time.
