About Mayo Clinic Health System

Mayo Clinic Health System is a family of clinics, hospitals and other health care facilities with physical presence in 39 communities in four regions in Minnesota and Wisconsin. We serve more than 600,000 patients each year in facilities ranging from large regional medical centers with hospitals to rural primary care clinics, including:

  • 16 hospitals
  • 50 multispecialty clinics
  • One mobile health clinic

Our providers bring the knowledge and expertise of Mayo Clinic to these communities and surrounding areas to ensure our patients receive world-class health care close to home. Patients have access to a full spectrum of health care options, with more than 100 medical and surgical services and specialties available throughout the system. To best meet the unique needs of the communities we serve, patients receive quality health care at Mayo Clinic Health System sites and, when needed, can receive highly specialized care at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mission/Vision/Values

  • Our Mission: To inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education and research.
  • Our Vision: Mayo Clinic will provide an unparalleled experience as the most trusted partner for health care.
  • Our Value Statement: The needs of the patient come first.

Research

Mayo Clinic Health System has experienced substantial growth in research requests during the last three years. We employ dedicated research staff in all of our four regions, as well as numerous research temporary professionals to work and train alongside investigators.

Sites in Eau Claire and La Crosse have collaborative research agreements with the University of Wisconsin to establish a path for students and faculty to expand their ideas and career path and support patient opportunities for Mayo Clinic investigators.

Twenty-one sponsored Research and Innovation collaboration projects have been awarded to fund various science, student projects, quality initiatives and patient-directed research studies to support research growth in the Northwest Wisconsin Region.

We deployed new COVID-19 research trials during 2020 to help meet the changing needs of our patients.
