Recently, 122 American medical schools — both public and private — were ranked by US News & World Report according to the average debt that graduates owe. The lowest? $85,000. Highest? $340,000. In addition, of the top-10 highest-debt schools, five offer doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degrees rather than doctor of medicine (MD) degrees.
