Our Commitment

The CE Department shall address the intellectual and practical needs of its learners by offering structured presentations of recent scientific advances and new clinical knowledge while creating innovative learning experiences that center upon interactive dialogue between learners and faculty. Boston Children’s recognizes health care professionals as lifelong learners and strives to provide valuable pediatric opportunities through CE as well as other effective resources, e.g., fellowships, residencies and observerships. The educational content contained in our CE activities is planned in accordance with the ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support – Standards to Ensure the Independence of CE Activities. Courses are planned to promote the dissemination of recent clinical and scientific advancements, clinical quality improvement (CQI), patient safety, medical leadership and the six core competencies:

  • patient care
  • medical knowledge
  • practice-based learning and improvement
  • interpersonal skills and communication
  • professionalism and systems-based practice

The ultimate goal is to provide further medical education to physicians and other health care professionals so they may practice high-quality patient care resulting in better outcomes.
