CDC Calls for All US Adults to be Screened for Hepatitis B
The CDC now calls for screening of all adults aged 18 years or older at least once during their lifetimes. And vaccination should be offered to all who have not previously been vaccinated, regardless of serologic testing results. The CDC is now also recommending screening during every pregnancy, preferably in the first trimester, regardless of a patient’s vaccination status or history of testing.

10-year review of health insurance data set reveals possible protective effect of H1 antihistamines in preventing hepatic cancer
Antihistamine use in patients with HBV, HCV, or dual virus infections was associated with approximately two-fold lower risk of HCC when compared with patients who did not use antihistamines, in a dose-dependent manner.
