ACC, AHA, and HRS jointly updated the 2015 advanced training statement for clinical cardiac electrophysiology, adding new required competencies and revised procedural benchmarks for fellowship training.

This year’s Main Match included 44,344 offered positions, the most in the program’s history, which is 2.6% more than last year’s total of 43,237.

Survey findings demonstrate that clinical supervisors often send students away before opposite-gender patients enter, believing patients would be uncomfortable, without actually asking for patient consent.

“We’ve published several editorials in this past year focused on a 1-year fellowship in a specialty that arguably needs way, way more time, more than 1 year. Are we doing our trainees or even our patients a disservice by continuing that 1-year construct, which is now solidly 30 years old?”
