Researchers evaluated 54 adults with both mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and sleep disturbances, a population considered at elevated risk for progression to dementia. Participants reporting vitamin D intake of at least 5,000 IU daily scored more than 13% higher on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) compared with those not taking vitamin D after adjustment for other variables.
